Vision Link is a patient service system that is designed for skilled care and offers an extensive list of equipment and services for all care levels. It provides an integrated wireless platform with alarm outputs to your choice of staff notification devices including pocket pager, PDA, cellular phone, Ascom or Spectralink wireless phones, email, two-way radio, central station and more. If I were to sum up the reasons why you should choose Systems Technologies Vision wireless systems it would be Quality, Price, Service and Instant Availability.

Quality
The Vision Link Wireless Nurse Call System was the first and is still the only complete wireless nurse call system that is certified with a UL1069 listing for “Hospital Signaling and Nurse Call Equipment”. This means that it is tested much more rigorously than other systems on the market including one million repetitions without a single failure. Systems Technologies also receives a quarterly surprise inspection to ensure that quality manufacturing procedures are followed and documented. Additionally, when any of our wireless stations alarm, they send 24 transmissions over 24 separate frequencies to ensure that the signal always arrives at the console (receiver). Each station and transmitter is also supervised by the system to ensure the battery and station are in good working order. Station battery life is typically 4 to 6 years and low battery warnings appear at the console three weeks before the battery requires
replacement.
Price
In every competitive case we have seen to date, our Vision products are more cost effective than the products reviewed. Our strategy is to make a little profit on many sales instead of a lot of profit on few sales and we price our products accordingly.
Service
Systems Technologies has been independently performance ranked in the top 94% of all GSA vendors by Dunn & Bradstreet’s Open Ratings program which is based on actual customer interviews. Our
systems are engineered for reliability, ease of use and simple set-up and programming. This allows us to easily ship pre-programmed systems anywhere in the world. When the user receives the equipment, the manual walks them through very easy steps to set-up, test and use the equipment. We are also available 24/7 for toll-free telephone support as well as email support for locations outside the U.S. and Canada. We can always provide local installation and service if desired. No ongoing and expensive service contracts are necessary with our simple to use systems.
Instant Availability
Our systems can be ordered on-line at GSA Advantage or from our GSA contract to eliminate purchasing delays. As a manufacturer we have made a commitment to have equipment on hand and ready to ship at all times. At Systems Technologies, we understand the critical nature of life safety needs. We have installation crews that can fly anywhere on short notice if time is critical and experienced personnel required. These are all personnel that have spent time in our Technical Support Center so their knowledge level is extensive and their dedication to customer satisfaction is high.
Applications
When it comes to applications or needs our products can fill, there are many over and above our core product which is, of course, as a nurse call system for VA Medical Centers, Clinics and Long Term Care Homes. These include:
► Long Term Care
Our wireless nurse call systems have all the stations of a regular wired system but can bring additional features including quality assurance reports for staff accountability, portable transmitters for mobile patients, wireless door/window exit notification, wireless bed/chair exit notification, wandering patient notification, alarm events and text messaging to staff pocket pagers or wireless phones and so much more.
► Expansion of Existing Facilities
You don’t have to change out the complete system in an existing facility. You can simply add wireless stations or other features listed in the paragraph above to the existing hard-wired system and provide greater patient safety without breaking your budget.
► Field Hospitals
Wireless pendant transmitters can “hang” from the patient bed rail and when pressed, notify medical staff that assistance is needed. These water-resistant wireless units can be used indoors or out - even in the shower. Signals will stay within base confines and will not interfere with aircraft or any other military signals or equipment.
► Shipboard Infirmaries
Again our wireless units can be used in aircraft carrier or battleship infirmaries so that patients can signal medical staff when they need help. Extra pendant transmitters can be kept on hand in case of emergency.
► Disaster Planning
Anywhere you could conceivably have an overflow of patients due to natural disaster, war or disease, our wireless systems with pendant transmitters that can be passed out to patients can ensure that those needing help can signal those that can provide it. Because they are water resistant, they are easily disinfected and re-used.
► Temporary Nurse Call
If an existing wired nurse call system is “down” because it is being replaced or is simply broken, no need to move your patients. Just open the suitcase, plug the MicroVision console into an electrical outlet at the nursing station and hang a pendant from each patient’s bedside. No matter how long it takes to fix what you have in place, you will have something that continues to do the job of signaling your nursing staff. When the patient presses their button (or pulls their cord) the console will continue to visually and audibly annunciate the alarm until staff goes to the patient and “cancels” the alarm on the pendant or station.
► Clinics
Wireless push button stations for exam rooms and wireless pull stations for bathrooms ensure that you can open a clinic quickly and inexpensively without a lot of unnecessary wiring. Need dome lights over the doors? No problem. We have those, too.
► Security
Whether security personnel need an inconspicuous transmitter clipped to their belt or attached under a desk, we can provide it along with notification to whoever is desired by pocket pager, cellular phone, email, central monitoring station, wireless phone and more. The coverage area can be a wing, building, campus or military base. Repeaters simply plug into any available AC electrical outlet or they can be powered by solar power, generator or other source and ensure that coverage is as broad as you need it.
► Meeting JCAHO accreditation mandates
Systems Technologies manufactures wireless IV pump and ventilator alarms for nursing stations beyond “earshot” of patient rooms. We manufactured one model specifically for a VA Hospital needing an acoustic coupler to send a signal if an IV pump that could only make an audible tone went into alarm state. Our dedication to serving customer needs is a core value in our mission statement.
Additional Benefits
►Cost savings on wiring
Vision systems are wireless which means a huge cost savings on any nurse call or emergency call system installation.
►Mobile personal pendant transmitters
Provide instant wireless notification whenever someone needs help or feels threatened.
►No Additional Console Required Pendants
Mobile personal transmitters can be added to any system and can notify existing pagers, cellular phones or other notification devices.
►Dome Light Notification
Silent (or audible) alarm notification from any wall station or pendant transmitter to corridor dome lights as well as pocket pagers
►Escalating Notification
The system continues to escalate the alarm through multiple pagers, phones or other outputs until the event is canceled at the originating alarm device or at the console if that is your preference.
►Locators
Know not just who needs help but where they are. This information appears on the console as well as any and all mass notification devices pre-programmed to receive it.
►Quality Assurance Reports
Tell you how timely staff is responding to alarms (patient call requests) to help determine staffing requirements and provide data for employee evaluations.
►Add patient and pull stations to new and converted rooms
Change a room to patient use by just adding wireless stations to suit the new use.
►Hardwire system integration
Add wireless stations, pendant transmitters, smoke, motion, glassbreak and other detectors to existing wired systems without the expense of replacement or re-wiring.
Numerous VA and other government agencies have already installed and are successfully using Systems Technologies VisionPro and VisionLink Wireless Emergency Call Systems.
